Eastside Student Center (ESC), established in 2019, is dedicated to empowering youth through peer-led support and leadership, mentorship, and community-driven initiatives, providing a safe, supportive and substance-free space for youth to gather, organize, and grow. Our mission is to foster positive social connections with peers and mentors, creativity, connectedness, and essential job & life skills for youth ages 10-18 from traditionally marginalized groups in rural Inyo County.
ESC accomplishes this by providing two distinct out-of-school drop-in centers: The Fowler Street Center (grades 5 & 6) and the Line Street Center (grades 7-12), both featuring programs and activities centered around building protective factors against youth substance use and addressing systemic inequities at the community level. Everything offered by eastside student center is free of charge for youth and their families.
